Bristol Health Partners is a partnership that’s all about improving health and care in the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire area. We do this through enabling the best people to work together, no matter who they are. We bring together people from across organisations and sectors, including the real experts – the public, patients and carers.
Our 19 Health Integration Teams (HITs) are grassroots groups run by passionate local experts. HITs are the engine of our partnership where all the magic happens. They focus on a health issue or condition, whether that’s dementia, how to make our neighbourhoods healthy, suicide and self-harm or chronic pain. This pioneering approach, bringing together patients and the public, researchers, health and care services, public health experts and the voluntary sector, can help solve some thorny problems.
We are a partnership between the major health and care institutions in the region. This includes three NHS trusts, the clinical commissioning group, two universities and Bristol City Council. They have formed Bristol Health Partners voluntarily, and we are funded by contributions from five of these organisations.
The Bristol and Bath Health and Care Awards recognise the hard work and dedication of the many people working in our local health and care sector. We are proud to be involved in this celebration of these everyday heroes.
We are delighted to sponsor the Research Impact Award. We believe that our public services, including health and care, should be informed by the best evidence. Quality research that makes a difference in the real world is central to that vision.
